Brad Tandy wins silver for 50m freestyle at Commonwealth Games
Brad finished behind Commonwealth record-holder Ben Proud of England

Ladysmith lad Bradley Tandy “sprinted” his way to a silver medal in the men’s 50m freestyle event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia this morning (April 10).
Tandy finished behind Commonwealth record-holder Ben Proud of England, who finished in a time of 21.35.
Our South African star came second in a time of 21.81, and Australia’s Cameron McEvoy rounded off the podium in third place with 21.91.
Brad’s silver medal increased team South Africa’s Commonwealth Games medal tally to 19.
This is South Africa’s sixth silver medal, adding to their eight gold medals and five bronze medals. Team South Africa are currently fifth in the medal standings.
