Dumping is taking place at the Plaza shopping centre in Lyell Street, creating an eyesore for business owners and shoppers alike.
A large, green waste bin is situated at the Plaza, but the rubbish is so much that refuse lies everywhere.
Mealie leaves, as well as hordes of other rubbish, is just thrown all over the place. According to business owners, they don’t know when last the municipality came to clean up this area.

Business owners say that dumping takes place every day and they actually see the vendors offloading their rubbish. They say it’s people from the area who are dumping all their waste “on their own doorstep” so to speak.
