Three people suffered injuries and a fourth was lucky to escape unscathed in a crash on Victoria Street, near Dundee Secondary School, early on Saturday morning.
Two vehicles crashed into each other with one of the cars bursting into flames shortly after 6am.
It is believed one of the drivers is from Craigside and the other possibly from Dannhauser.
Those in the burning vehicle were pulled to safety. Paramedics and police were soon on the scene. It is thought that the rising sun may have temporarily blinded the driver of one of the vehicles travelling in the direction of Vryheid which lead to the accident.
