Roaming cattle continue to be a problem in Ladysmith

A Ladysmith Gazette journalist spotted cattle roaming around in Centenary Road, without anyone to herd them

Roaming cattle are once again becoming a problem not only in Acaciavale but in the surrounding areas as well.

Residents are up in arms about livestock running free in their neighbourhoods. They say the livestock includes goats as well.

A Ladysmith Gazette journalist spotted cattle roaming around in Centenary Road yesterday afternoon (Sunday, April 15), without anyone to herd them.

Motorists are complaining that it is becoming a hazard to them, especially at night, and could easily result in an accident.

“Public Safety officers need to fine the owners of the cattle so this issue can stop. Harsher fines are needed,” said an upset motorist.
