Vacant land is causing great concern for the many residents residing in Lucknow Road.

They say that the grass has become overgrown and is not only an eyesore, but has become a health risk.

“The grass has become overgrown and we saw snakes coming out from that area. I have reported it several times, but nothing has been done about this issue and it is really causing us to worry,” said one resident.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality spokesperson Siyabonga Maphalala stated that, “Site inspections are being done and once they are finished and we have had a meeting among management, various teams will be sent out to these respective areas in order to solve the issues residents have.”
