Dundee crime: two men stabbed in separate incidents

Dundee SAPS urges the community to walk in groups, report crime and to be vigilant at all times.

Two stabbings in Dundee
A 33-year-old man was stabbed with a broken bottle last Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of Gladstone Street in the central business district.
Another assault took place in Dlamini village on Friday when a man was stabbed by a known suspect while they were fighting over a missing cell phone. A knife was used and a case has been opened.
Robbery in Sibongile
A 21-year-old was robbed on Mandonsela Street last Friday morning. The thief used a knife to rob the man and and took his black laptop, Vodafone, ID and books with a total value estimated at R7 200. No arrests have been made.
Fraudsters withdraw money from ATM
A fraudster managed to withdraw R3 000 from an ABSA ATM inside Charlies SuperSpar last Friday afternoon. The victim was told by a shopper that he had forgotten to pick up his slip from the ATM. Afterwards, he realised that the money had been withdrawn.
Another incident took place on Saturday where an amount of R1 701.15 was fraudantly withdrawn via online banking.
Burglaries on the rise
A Craigside house was broken into on Friday where robbers gained access by forced entry. The burglars stole a green skill saw and a Fregramdrill both valued at R1 300.
The thief is ”known” and a case has been opened. Another burglary occurred on Sunday on Cornhill Street.
Two wallets containing cash, a credit card, ID and a drivers licence were stolen.
