Lucknow Road turns into a swamp with overgrown grass

DA councillor Valentino Murugan has been contacted by numerous residents about the problem

Lucknow Road, formerly known as Dusty Road to many people in Ladysmith, has turned into a slimy swamp with overgrown grass.

DA councillor Valentino Murugan has been contacted about the problem by numerous residents living in the area.

He says a major water leak which has been there for years has caused the area to turn into a swamp.

“With so much water flowing in the area, the grass has grown all over the street and has even turned the street into one lane,” said a furious resident.

The road has lots of foot traffic, as many schoolchildren walk to and from two schools that are in the area.

Residents, together with Cllr Murugan, want the problem fixed, as it has gone on for too many years. Cllr Murugan has now written a letter to the municipal manager and will be submitting a motion in council on the matter.
