49-year-old hiker injured in the Drakensberg
A combined rescue team hiked to the area on Saturday and stayed with the injured woman overnight

A 49-year-old woman was injured while hiking in the Drakensberg on Saturday afternoon (April 28).
Emergency officials were called to help the woman, who had fallen and could not move.

A combined rescue team hiked to the area on Saturday and stayed with the injured woman overnight.
On Sunday morning, 15 Squad Unit, police, Search & Rescue and other emergency personnel flew up to the area and airlifted the woman to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
The woman is recovering well after her ordeal.
