Illegal dumper faces hefty fine after tip off from Vryheid resident

Cllr Viktor got a tip off from a community member about a truck that was heading out to dump building rubble near the cemetery and she took action immediately.

DA councillor, Magda Viktor, is still set on ensuring that community members who dump their rubbish illegally, get what’s coming to them.

Recently, Cllr Viktor got a tip off from a community member about a truck that was heading out to dump building rubble near the cemetery and she took action immediately.

“When I got the call, I contacted Public Safety’s TS Mthembu, immediately. The matter was addressed and the community member in question was issued a hefty fine and told to clean the area up,” said Cllr Viktor.

With this councillor taking such measures to ensure that illegal dumping is brought to a stop, Vryheid may be well on its way to receiving that ‘Cleanest town in KZN’ award again.

“I would like to send out a message to those doing the illegal dumping all over town, that I have eyes all over town watching them,” said Cllr Viktor in closing.
