Many areas in Ladysmith have been without water from early this morning (May 5).
According to uThukela, they are experiencing an electrical power cut from Alfred Duma Local Municipality at the Ladysmith bulk works.
It started at 3pm and they have no electricity. Hence, no water has been produced to be pumped.
uThukela have reported the problem to Public Safety.
The following are the affected areas: Van Riebeeck Park, Roosboom, Ladysmith CBD, Hospital Park, Old Golf Course, and LHS area.
According to uThukela, electrical interruptions cause burst pipes, damage to electrical equipment and more.
An appeal goes out to residents to store water as soon as it comes back on.
