Illegal dumping is nothing new to Ladysmith, as many areas have fallen prey to impromptu landfills.
One area in particular where this is prevalent is Thompson Road, where one can see an ever-growing trash pile slowly taking over not only the bush but also the road itself.
This is not the only issue in Thompson Road, as there are plenty of potholes to keep motorists focused on dodging the “craters”.

“We pay rates and all this money is meant to go into maintenance and improvement, yet our town stays neglected and it seems like we are in a complete shambles,” commented one frustrated community member.
Alfred Duma Local Municipality has yet to comment on this matter.
