Meet the man behind Estcourt’s Living Water Ministries

As a way of showing love to the community, Living Water Ministries has adopted a registered weekly soup kitchen and Seniors Citizens Club

A new Estcourt resident and leader of Living Water Ministries is Pastor Sila Wa Modimo. Pastor Sila moved from Cape Town, where he led Rhabi Ministries.

Living Water Ministries has had Pastor Sila with them for the past month as they host various services from the Colita Community Hall. Two weeks ago the church held a 12-hour service from 6pm to 6am, which Pastor Sila reports went very well.

“I want to do the work of the Lord here, because there is a need. Where there is a need, we as Christians, can help through prayer,” explained Pastor Sila.

Pastor Sila also wants to focus on the young people with drug-related problems. He would like to encourage concerned and affected family members to come and stand in for their loved ones.

“I want youth to learn from Jesus, and as a church we are here to bridge the gap that the government cannot fill with their resources, we will fill it with prayer,” he added.

As a way of showing love to the community, Living Water Ministries has adopted a registered weekly soup kitchen and Seniors Citizens Club.

The soup kitchen takes place every Wednesday at the Colita Community Hall from 3pm and the Seniors Citizens Clubs meet every Wednesday at the same venue from 12.30pm.

Both are managed and funded by the congregation of Living Water Ministries but they do need sponsors at this point to keep the soup kitchen operational. The seniors are treated to massages at their weekly meetings.

The Seniors Citizens are currently looking forward to their first ever outing to Nottingham Road planned soon as well as a special Mother’s Day lunch on May 12.

A prayer line will be up and running Saturdays and locals can call and book to see Pastor Sila to address whatever issues they have. Forms will also be available for the prayer line service.

Bookings are essential and can be made by calling Nomfundo on 072 849 9238. Living Water Ministries congregants warmly welcome Pastor Sila and wish him a blessed stay in Estcourt.
