Winning big while supporting the Estcourt Animal Shelter

With prizes valued at over R2 500, there was plenty to look forward to

After more than a month of selling Estcourt Animal Shelter raffle tickets, the highlight of drawing the lucky winners was done at Hillside Shopping Centre on Saturday.

Estcourt Hospice Association Manager Rena Licen draws a lucky winner. She is flanked by Ish Jaggernath and Michaela Licen.

With prizes valued at over R2 500, there was plenty to look forward to. Committee members set up in the shopping centre parking lot where they welcomed donations of cat and dog food and made a final bid to sell raffle tickets.

By 1pm all the raffle tickets were neatly folded and placed in a large box, ready to be drawn. To honour mothers and women, females were chosen to draw the lucky winners.

Estcourt Spar Manager Jayshree Sukai draws a lucky number.

The winners are as follows:
1. R1 000 gift voucher from Salon Indulgence was won by Graham Moor.
2. R500 git voucher from Jenny Symons was won by Urisha Ramborosa.
3. R400 gift voucher from Feet First (Claudia) was won by Pam Venter.
4. R400 gift voucher from Brenda McFie was won by Kirsten Skead.
5. Pamper hamper won by Ian Stanley.
6. Pamper hamper won by Kirsten Skead.
7. Pamper hamper won by Gen Parker.

The Estcourt Animal Shelter committee members would like to thank the public who donated so freely as well as the people who sponsored the prizes.

Thank you too to Ish Jaggernath whose idea the raffle ticket fundraiser was and who sponsored the printing of the tickets. A total of R12 086 was raised as well as donations of cat and dog food received.

The kennels at the Estcourt Animal Shelter require R20 000 a month to maintain, thanks to committee members who provide finances, the shelter is able to keep afloat. Thank you to everyone who has assisted. The committee also thanks management from Spar as well as Hillside centre court management.
