Newcare Women’s Circle gives back to the needy in Church collaboration

According to Pastor PH Odit, it was important for the church to help improve the lives of homeless people with this feeding scheme, as well as with counselling.

The Newcare Women’s Circle (NWC), is focused on helping those among us who are less fortunate.

On May 9, the group of women collected various food items to donate to a local soup drive, which provides food for homeless people all over Newcastle.

“We, as the NWC, felt it was the most appropriate time to join hands with New Beginnings Ministries, and contribute to their Free Meals Kitchen initiative. Since it is winter and there are many children and adults living on the streets, we decided to join in this exercise, as the homeless become even more vulnerable,” explained Jasmine Roy, chairperson of the NWC.

The Free Meals Kitchen initiative was started by New Beginnings Ministries, with soup drives every Tuesday, between 12- and 1pm at 1 Jasmine Crescent.
