The atmosphere was tangible as they sang “The wheels of the bus go round and round!” for the entire trip to the dam.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and before long a few of the children waded into the water.

One of the boys took a very enthusiastic plunge into the dam, and soon realised that the water temperature had dropped significantly. Unfortunately there was a little nibble here and there but a fish was not caught.

The fish could probably hear the noise of the school bus from miles away and went into hiding. The poor educators spent their time undoing birds’ nests, casting in for learners, getting lures out of tree branches and baiting up live worms.
