Bergville NFP councillor gunned down
NFP councillor and Deputy Chairperson of the Vulindlela Taxi Association Cleapus Mkhawuleni Mabaso was gunned down while travelling in Bethany
The Provincial Taxi Violence Task team has been summoned to investigate a murder that took place in Bergville on Saturday afternoon.

61-year-old National Freedom Party councillor and Deputy Chairperson of the Vulindlela Taxi Association Cleapus Mkhawuleni Mabaso was gunned down while travelling in Bethany.

“On the afternoon of May 26, the man was ambushed whiledriving his vehicle. He sustained several fatal gunshot wounds to his body,” commented police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.
A case of murder has been opened and is being investigated.
