#SuperheroDads – Movie fathers we can aspire to be
Ahead of Father's Day, we have listed a few movie fathers who showed us the qualities of a true superhero dad.
Movie fathers aren’t always portrayed accurately.
Sadly, not every father is a world-bearing pillar of strength who shoulders the troubles of their family singlehandedly.
That doesn’t mean we can’t learn important lessons from the silver screen.

Here are our picks for the greatest role model movie fathers:
Atticus Finch (played by Gregory Peck) – To Kill a Mockingbird

If any character represents unwavering commitment to justice, it would be Atticus.
Throughout the novel and film, Atticus represents equality and logic, eventually standing against the town of Maycomb and the system itself.
The lessons he imparts to his children are ones which endure.
Even though prevailing racism means Atticus is destined to lose Tom Robinson’s case, he approaches the matter with no less fervour and determination.

Chris Gardner (portrayed by Will Smith) – The Pursuit of Happyness

Some fathers are unstoppable, even when life stacks almost insurmountable odds against them.
Both in the movie and real life, Chris Gardner went from literal rags to riches.
Throughout he stayed true to a promise, that no one would treat his child the way he was treated.
We learn from Chris the importance of hard work and never losing sight of one’s goal.
Mac MacGuff (played by J.K. Simmons) – Juno

Superficially, Mac might seem like the traditional no-nonsense father figure.
Look beyond that and you’ll find another great example of fatherhood.
He’s not perfect and that’s what makes Mac so relatable – he’s as uncertain as his daughter, Juno, but continues to show support and provide advice.
