PREVIEW: Nomvelo helps empower abused and broken women and children

“I was always someone who put others needs above my own."

All too often, people allow where they come from or how they were raised to define who they will become.

This was not the case for 34-year-old Nomvelo Buthelezi, who has worked tirelessly to achieve her life-long dream of becoming a qualified and registered social worker.

“After matriculating in 2002, I really wanted to continue my studies, but there was no money, as I came from a family who belonged to a disadvantaged rural community, where they tried to make a living through farming.”

Despite this, she remained positive that one day she would make it, and make a difference in her standard of living.
