Glendee Cellars was broken into on Sunday night. Thieves gained entrance via the rooftop and covered surveillance cameras with foil. Thieves used a grinder to open the money safe and found nothing, that’s when they fled the scene with a laptop valued at R8 000.
Stock theft on the rise on Dundee/ Helpmekaar road
Goats, valued at over R75 000, were stolen from a grazing field in Dundee at about midday last Thursday. Police said the 42 goats belonged to three men.
Burglaries continue to plague homeowners
Three house burglaries were reported. A house was burgled at France, Sibongile, on Friday afternoon.
The burglar forced the door open to gain entrance and stole an HP laptop and a cellphone with a total estimated value of R5 700.
Another house was burgled at Craigside farm on Friday when a thief stole a gas cylinder bottle, pants, jeans, a T-shirt and a jacket valued at an estimated R3 020. The thief forcefully removed the padlock to gain entrance. A house in Craigside was broken into on Friday night when the burglar broke the padlock to gain entrance and stole cash and a stereo valued at R2 150.
