MUST READ: Suspect nabbed for possession of firearm, ammunition and drugs

A 26-year-old suspect was arrested for being in possession of an illegal firearm, ammunition and drugs in Blaaubosch on July 4.

According to police reports, members of Newcastle SAPS K9 Unit, Warrant Officer, Dlomo and Constable’s Nkabinde and Ngcobo were conducting an Intelligence Driven Operation together with members of Amajuba Cluster TAsk Team, when they made the arrest.

“SAPS recovered a nine millimeter pistol, two live rounds of ammunition, two half Mandrax tablets and 67 match-boxes filled with dry-loose dagga in the suspect’s possession.”

The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly, and he will appear in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court soon.
