Hundreds of residents left with dry taps due to electrical problem at Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant

There is an electrical problem on the raw water submersible pumps at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant

Hundreds of residents living in Acaciavale, Rose Park and Hillside have been left without water since this morning (July 9).

As an explanation for the situation, uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the community that there is an electrical problem on the raw water submersible pumps at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant.

“This has led to low water supply to Ezakheni, Pieters Industrial Area and Acaciavale,” said uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza.

People who have running taps are advised to store water in case their supply is cut off.
