Update: Funeral details for former K9 Unit officer

Cliffie leaves behind his wife Anne, sons Justin and Mark, and daughter Sheri-Lee

The funeral procession of former K9 Unit officer Clifton Joseph Robert ‘Cliffie’ Francis will take place on Friday, July 13.

60-year old Cliffie had been suffering from a long-term medical condition.

He passed away peacefully in hospital in his sleep yesterday morning (July 9).

The former K9 Unit officer served in the South African Police Service for 38 years and decided to take his retirement in May this year.

The funeral procession details are as follows: The body will at his home from 10am to 12.30pm. Thereafter, the body will be taken to the Regina Pacis Catholic Church (4 St Augustine Road from 1pm), proceeding to the cemetery at 2.30pm.

Cliffie leaves behind his wife Anne, sons Justin and Mark, and daughter Sheri-Lee.

He will be dearly missed by fellow colleagues and the K9 Unit.
