Endumeni Motorsport Club lend a helping hand to Baby Navya in Ladysmith
The team from Endumeni Motorsport Club say they received an excellent response from Ladysmith at their drag racing event and their donation to Baby Navya is a way of giving back to the community of Ladysmith

Endumeni Motorsport Club recently made a donation to the family of Baby Navya.
Navya has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
The club hosted a day of fast and furious action during its Winter Challenge held at the Dundee Airfield last Sunday.
Because of great support from Ladysmith racers at the event, the club decided to give something back, hence the donation.
The club started with a few members who were aficionados of motor racing and who got together to challenge “petrol-heads” from neighbouring towns. The move sparked instant response from fanatics in Volksrust, Vryheid, Newcastle, Estcourt and our own guys and gals.
The club is affiliated to KZN Motorsport and has grown in stature since then.
After the Sunday event, when they exceeded their target to raise funds for 1000 blankets, the club decided to be philanthropic and help Baby Navya as a token of appreciation to their Ladysmith friends.

They followed protocol and met little Navya’s family, along with the Ladysmith group of speedsters and bikers who attended the drag racing event in Dundee, to formally present their contribution.

Navya’s disease manifests in various degrees of severity, which all have in common progressive muscle wasting and mobility impairment.
“There’s great reason for hope though. Thanks to the ingenuity of researchers overseas, there is an approved treatment that targets the underlying genetics of SMA. Local doctors are networking with their counterparts nationally and abroad, and everything possible will be pursued by our local team of doctors,” say the family.
