Alfred Duma Local Municipality strongly condemns the recent attacks on municipal employees and the damage done to property.
Community members in areas such as Steadville, Tsakane, Ntombi’s Camp and Inkanyezi in Colenso reportedly attacked employees of the electricity department recently when they were sent out to disconnect community members who have not been paying.

The municipality say that any attacks and preventing these employees from carrying out their duties is highly condemned and those responsible will have to face the might of the law.
The municipality appeals to community members to allow their employees to carry out their duties and urge people to pay for their electricity – consuming without paying is wrong.
