A fire broke out at a scrap metal yard on Monday morning (July 30) in Thompson Road.

It is believed that someone was using a blow torch to cut through a metal candle stove when the fire started, also causing something to explode.

The flames quickly spread inside the scrap yard, with the fire department responding to the scene.

Firefighters quickly had the blaze under control, with a large crowd of onlookers gathering around and inside the scrap yard.

Many people also stopped on the road to see what was going on.

No one was injured in the fire.
