Winter is over, which allows you to get rid of dry grass and dull lawns, and get shopping for colourful and unique flowers, which have your visitors talking about it in no time.
Below are a few tips on how to get started with a luscious DIY Spring garden:

- Decide where you want to create your garden and start clearing the area.
- Thereafter using bricks, rocks or even tree bark, outline your unique new garden, and get digging.
- Fill the area half way with a mixture of compost and potting soil, before planting your colourful new seedlings.
- Then fill the rest of the area with top soil.
Voila, and you’re done.
Uhm, not quite done yet.

Having a beautiful garden is about more than just the plants. It’s about creating a space where you can relax and even enjoy those Spring nights outside around the braai.
So, here a few items you could add to your garden to make it the perfect Zen Den:

- Add a few multi-colour solar lights in between the plants, as well as a mini water feature.
- If a water feature is a bit out of budget range, then create a DIY birds bath. It can be just as pretty
- garden gnomes, fairies and other garden figurines could also add that extra something to your garden.
- Bring your garden to life by adding some garden furniture, such as benches and even tables and chairs, and top it off with a unique bonfire pit.
There you have it! One weekend is all you need to fulfill this task and have your garden looking like something out of a magazine.
Enjoy!
