Rocky road for SPCA bakkie

The state of the vehicle is a major concern for the organisation as it poses a hazard for humans and animals alike

As an integral part of helping the SPCA protect the animals of the area, the SPCA bakkie is worn out and has sadly seen better days.

The bakkie was originally bought with funding received from the Lotto. However, the national lottery no longer contributes to the organisation.

The engine is leaking oil, the brake pads are worn out and the gearbox needs a service.

The shocks and bearings are also in need of changing and emit a noise when turning the steering wheel.

The tyres are also in poor condition and there is no spare wheel. They are old and have no grip when driving on gravel or dusty roads.

The state of the vehicle is a major concern for the organisation as it poses a hazard for humans and animals alike.

The SPCA is appealing to anyone who can assist with the donation of a new vehicle or contribute funds towards buying a new vehicle for the organisation. Assistance with repairs or servicing of the current vehicle will also be appreciated.

Anyone willing to help can contact one of the committee members or the office directly on 034 212 2851.
