Prineetha explained how it all happened: Even as a child, Prineetha dreamed of walking the catwalk, so when she heard of the beauty pageant, she decided it was now or never and entered.

“To me, this was like a calling from the universe allowing me to live out my childhood fantasy. With the support of my family I entered and I was selected as a top ten finalist,” she said proudly.

“My daughter Yuthika and son-in-law Ashish, who reside in Luxembourg, Europe encouraged me to enter saying it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

My son Aqir, who emigrated to Hefei in China, also motivated me by telling me to just do it for the thrill of it. My 84-year-old mom Soni is just as excited as I am and has supported me all the way.

Then my husband Sailesh, who is my pillar of strength, told me that just by being a contestant already made me a winner in his eyes,” she said affectionately.

The family- orientated mother of two, is not just a pretty face, but is also career driven and is currently pursuing her post law studies while working at the Amajuba District Municipality.

Not only is she living out her modelling dream, but the opportunity has allowed her to become more involved in charity work.

“I was given a lot of second chances in my life, so I thought it was time I started giving back to my community and this is definitely the platform to do so.”

Prineetha, being the upbeat person she is, has found preparing for the upcoming pageant fairly easy.

She said it has made her more confident, more determined and more positive. She keeps up with her daily tasks by recording them in her diary.

She follows a healthy diet and exercises often. She has also consulted a local beauty queen and modelling coach in order to perfect her technique.

“My motto in life is based on the three P’s – patience, preparation and positivity. All these have played a major role in my journey so far.”

Prineetha’s end goal is to start an organ donor foundation sometime in the future and promote the importance of becoming an organ donor.

“The greatest gift of life is life itself, and by becoming an organ donor a person can help improve someone else’s life and even possibly save a life.”
