Kickboxers excel at grading in Durban

In humid and extremely hot conditions, the grading was a test of the kickboxers’ heart and commitment and they excelled at both.

Local kickboxers have proven themselves to be one step ahead of their competitors.

Junior and senior members of TNS (Tap, Nap or Snap) Kickboxing Club were graded at the Shuriken Kickboxing Dojo in Durban on November 24.

“We are so proud to announce that our very first grading under black belt, Shihan Larry Vorster went off without a hitch,” explains TNS management.

In humid and extremely hot conditions, the grading was a test of the kickboxers’ heart and commitment and they excelled at both.

However, the third aspect of the grading was their mental attitude.

“They had to spar against each other and the rest of the white belts too. They gave as good as they got and did not back down.”

The following kickboxers were graded up from white belt to yellow belt:

  • Douglas Barnard
  • Lana Coetzee
  • Zandrie Coetzee
  • Heinrich Coetzee
  • Simone van den Berg
  • Lizelle van den Berg
  • Zander van der Walt
  • Lindokuhle Mkhasibe

Coach Konrad Erasmus received his blue belt after 10 rounds of sparring.

“We are so proud to have these able athletes representing TNS and New Active Gold Fitness. A big thank you to Sune, Tracey and all the parents for their support and for making this possible.”
