However police and wildlife conservationists are diligently responding to each and every report in the hopes that safely capturing the elusive lions.

The Vryheid Herald received a video on Monday morning that residents believed showed one of the lions that has been roaming around in the area.

The video appears to have been taken in broad daylight from inside a car parked on the side of the road.

In the video, a male lion is seen clearly crossing the road.

Both Ezemvelo communications officer, Musa Mntambo, and Gluckstadt station commander, Captain Erasmus, agree that the video is a case of misinformation.

Captain Erasmus received the video on Monday from a resident who alleged that the video had been taken at the Mondlo crossing that very morning. However, a look at the video properties indicates that the video had been taken on September 23 if not earlier. “The scenery in the video also did not match the location in which the video was allegedly taken,” said Captain Erasmus.
