Meet Sasol Kings new manager, Dirk Badenhorst

Dirk and his staff are committed to delivering outstanding service both on the forecourt and at the convenience store.

With more than 12 years of managerial experience, Dirk Badenhorst has been a loyal employee of the Kings Group.

At just 19 years of age, he started working at the Kings Group’s Pick n Pay Store in Vryheid, later he managed one of the groups liquor outlets for a period of four years.

Thereafter he gained valuable experience when he was appointed as a manager at the Pick n Pay Store in Hutten Heights. “At that time the store was still known as ‘Right Value’,”he recalls.

Dirk moved on to manage the second Pick n Pay (Family Store) in Pioneer Park which was also owned by the Kings Group.

It was in 2008 when Dirk made the decision to move to Mpumalanga where he worked at a petro-port. He added that “We missed home too much and decided to move back to Newcastle.”

Dirk, his wife and their two children returned to Newcastle a few months ago and is now appointed as the manager of the new Sasol Kings Filling Station on Hardwick Street.

“I am excited to be part of this business venture. I think the station is good for Newcastle, as it changes the face of this side of town,” he enthused.

Dirk and his staff are committed to delivering outstanding service both on the forecourt and at the convenience store.

“Customers can look forward to fresh meals prepared daily at our convenience store, as well as friendly smiles as we assist them,” concluded Dirk.
