Things to do in Newcastle during the festive season

1. Visit the Newcastle Mall during the holidays.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa from December 14 to 24 at 11am to 6pm. On Sundays, Santa will be available from 4pm to 5pm. Entertainment for children: There will be play areas situated at all three entrances such as Putt Putt, play gym and a sand pit. Something for the adults: Christmas Carol singing on Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm. Freddy Teeka will be performaning Hindi religious songs on Monday from 12pm to 2pm.
Family Day December 22: Rhythm Music School 2pm to 4pm musical performance. Enjoy a day out at the Go-Kart Racing track, which is now open for all to enjoy.
2. Stay fit: Keep the festive bulge at bay and attend the weekly parkrun, which takes place at Grey Goose from 8am every Saturday.
3. Catch the latest movies at the Victorian Theatres: Now showing: Anon, The Grinch 2D and Instant Family. Give the cinema a call for the showing times and latest movies: 034 315 4510.
4. Fun at the Factory Plaza: The Factory Plaza is full of fun and entertainment for children and adults. If you’re looking for activities to keep the little ones occupied, the Factory Plaza is the place to be this holiday. Visit its Facebook page: Factory Plaza, for late night shopping times and a programme for the holidays.
5. Take a trip Ntshingwayo / Chelmsford Dam and Ncandu Falls:
Take advantage of the natural sites we have right here at our doorsteps. Have a picnic at the Chelmsford Dam and cast in a rod or two to pass the time and soak up the sun.
For some much deserved R&R, visit the Ncandu Falls and watch nature perform at its best – enjoy a lekker braai and spend quality time with the family.
