Vryheid woman stabs her brother to death

A BHEKUZULU man bled out in seconds after his sister allegedly slit open his femoral artery during a heated argument on January 26.

Witnesses said the woman had become involved in a drunken brawl that night and her brother had forced her to leave the tavern, where the fight had started, and return home. Her brother was trying to stop her from returning to the tavern when she stabbed him in the thigh.

Vryheid SAPS communications officer, Captain Cheryl Venter, said the woman had turned herself in the next day and a case of murder is being investigated.
