The Lochsloy Project was held up due to the conditions imposed for the intersection requirements of the Department of Transport from around 2013. There was no funding within the project to meet the requirements of the said department; hence the Layout Plan could not be approved.

We then engaged the Department of Transport to relax their requirements in order to proceed with the project and they accordingly gave a letter to this effect in August 2017.

The Implementing Agent then re-submitted the Layout Plan to the Surveyor Generals office in late 2017 for approval and after receiving their approval submitted the stage two-pack to the Department of Human Settlements.

We did engage with the Department of Human Settlements and the Implementing Agent to construct the show house whilst we waited to finalise these outstanding issues but the Implementing Agent was of the opinion that the risk was too high and that he will only start with construction when stage two is approved and signed.

There were some challenges with the finalising of the stage two pack and the Department of Human Settlements has advised that they are now busy with the drafting and thereafter signing of the relevant agreements in order for this project to proceed. The relevant agreements should be signed by all parties shortly.
