Fluctuating dam levels in KZN
Other dams in KwaZulu-Natal have also shown decreasing water levels in the past week

Despite a fair amount of rainfall in the past weeks, Wagendrift Dam is just over 80 percent full.

According to the Water Affairs and Forestry Department’s website, the latest reading on January 28 indicated that the dam was 80.7 percent full.
This is a significant drop as compared to last year this time when Wagendrift Dam was 102.2 percent full.

Other dams in KwaZulu-Natal have also shown decreasing water levels in the past week. The Craigie Burn Dam located on the Mnyamvubu River, near Greytown was 70.8 percent full three weeks ago but is now 67.1 percent full.
The Spring Grove Dam in Mooi River was 51.2 percent full on January 17 and is now 47.8 percent full. The Midmar Dam is currently 93.3 percent full as opposed to 93.9 in mid-January.
