Deserving learners get a gift for the sole from the Uthukela district
25 learners from two schools each received a shiny new pair of school shoes
As part of the schools opening programme, Uthukela District Mayor Cllr AS Mazibuko, Speaker Cllr PG Strydom, Inkosi Langalibalele Chief Whip Cllr N Mazibuko and officials visited two primary schools last week.
The purpose of the visits was to handover the pairs of school shoes to needy learners.

The first stop was at Sifisosethu Primary School in Zwelisha and the second visit was at Kopleegte Primary School in Weenen.

The Mayor handed over about 25 pairs of school shoes to the beneficiaries in both schools. Mr Mazibuko then told the educators and learners that he was heeding the call from the President for the Thuma Mina campaign.
He explained that “the concept behind the campaign seeks to help our communities by working together with our principals to identify learners in need of some help”.

The Mayor emphasised that education is the key to success hence the intervention of this nature is prioritised.
Both schools were grateful to have received such gifts for their needy learners.
