A few years ago, Mrs Lepera tried her hand at planting watermelons but it was unsuccessful.

She has a habit of collecting fruit and vegetable seeds and recently decided to plant the seeds she had lying around. Tossing the seeds into the garden and pot plants, Mrs Lepera was unsure as to what it might yield.

She was pleasantly surprised when she noticed some of the seeds she had planted in a pot plant starting to sprout.

“We thought it may be butternut or marrow but then as they grew we saw it was watermelons,” said Mrs Lepera.

Apart from loving her gardening, Mrs Lepera loves watermelons and hopes for a good crop as well as good future planting prospects.
