THE fatal injuries suffered by a Vryheid cable thief is a horrific reminder of the immense peril these criminals expose themselves to.

An alleged cable thief was killed on Monday morning while apparently ‘on the job’ of stealing cable, near the Vryheid East area. The man, whose identity has not been revealed at this point, was killed almost instantly as 11 000 volts coursed through his body.
