More young girls involved in prostitution in Ladysmith

Many people feel sorry for these young girls who are selling their bodies on the streets

It seems that more and more young girls are becoming involved in prostitution in Ladysmith.

They are seen in Lyell Street, King Street and Settlers Drive, selling their ‘wares’ to would-be customers.

Motorists complain that these ‘ladies (girls) of the night’ shout at drivers as they pass by.

Local resident Mr Khan told the Ladysmith Gazette that one evening, it was pouring with rain as he was driving along Forbes Street and these young girls were still standing at the roadside waiting for someone to pick them up. “It was really sad to see this! Can’t the police do something and get them off the streets?” said Mr Khan.

Many people feel sorry for these youngsters who are selling their bodies and are of the opinion that they are merely making a living in tough times.
