Easter message: He died and arose again

This, perhaps one of the most gruesome and humiliating death of all time to be recorded in history, took place over two thousand years ago on a hill called Mount Calvary, when Jesus Christ offered Himself to be the sacrifice Lamb, depicting God’s unconditional love for the human race

A few days from now, millions of people all over the world, from different ethnic and various linguistic groups will celebrate this historic and religious festival called Easter, thus commemorating the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible.

Safe to say, God’s original plan for mankind was peace and tranquillity, but sin marred this plan and created a divide between God and man. Then Jesus was sent to reconcile man back to God and He did this by dying a cruel death on a wooden cross.

This, perhaps one of the most gruesome and humiliating death of all time to be recorded in history, took place over two thousand years ago on a hill called Mount Calvary, when Jesus Christ offered Himself to be the sacrifice Lamb, depicting God’s unconditional love for the human race.

Although the authenticity of these events (death, Burial and Resurrection) has been debated and refuted by Apologists and religious scholars of many faiths for centuries, one thing is certain, the lives of millions of adherents of the Christian Faith, have had their lives changed and transformed and have become devoted followers of the One who died and arose again. Easter reminds us of a Loving God reaching down to a sinful world with the offer of redeeming grace to all who will embrace the Saviour of the world Jesus Christ.

This is why the Church exists to-day as a Movement to Join God on His mission to give every man, woman and child repeated opportunities to hear see and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On behalf of the members of Harvestime Tabernacle, I wish the Church of Jesus Christ here in Estcourt and the surrounding areas happy Easter blessings.
