NG-Kerk Dankfees mixes activity with culinary delights

Those with a more culinary interest were delighted by the variety of food on sale: pizzas, jaffles, biltong, stir fry, specially baked cakes and warming mugs of tea and coffee.

Saturday’s NG-Kerk Dankfees started with an early morning 5km and 10km fun walk through Strathmore Park. The younger set charged on ahead of the more senior walkers, who chose a more sedate pace.

Thereafter, the Dankfees was officially opened at the NG-Kerk Suid on Fouche Street, with hundreds of bazaar-goers filing in to enjoy all the goodies on sale. Plenty of fun events ensured the younger generations were kept busy.

There was target shooting and face painting, while those with a more culinary interest were delighted by the variety of food on sale: pizzas, jaffles, biltong, stir fry, specially baked cakes and warming mugs of tea and coffee. It was also a chance to have a chat with old friends under the autumn sun.

See next Wednesday’s edition of the Courier for more photos from the Dankfees.
