Foul sewer leak in the CBD is finally fixed

The leak streamed from behind Jackie’s Butchery in Phillip Street and stirred up frustration, as rubbish along with human faeces created an eyesore and a stink in the area.

While no response was received from uThukela, the problematic sewer appears to have been fixed.

“The issue is resolved. There is no muck and water flowing at the back of my workshops anymore. The drain is bone dry, as if there was never any problem in the first place,” explained Mr Mothilal.

He expressed relief after having to deal with the smelly sewer spillage for months on end.
