23 injured in head on collision
Emergency services worked well together to clear the scene following a head on collision on the road between Vryheid and Louwsburg.
23 people sustained moderate to severe injuries in a head on collision on the Vryheid/Louwsburg road.
The collision took place earlier today between a taxi and a Toyota Corolla.
According to emergency services at the scene, a woman in the Toyota Corolla sustained severe injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.
Emergency services at the scene, including private services, the fire department and EMRS services, reportedly performed well together to get the scene under control.
“We had a good inter-service liaison operation going,” stated Frikkie Bekker of KZN Private. “We worked well together today…”
They transported patients to level 1 trauma care facilities well into the evening.
