Here are a few easy things caregivers can do to take care of themselves
1. Find emotional support – A support group in your town or even an online support group.

2. Ask for help – Have ideas ready when people offer help, eg prepare supper or pick up medication from the pharmacy.
3. Get formal training – Attending workshops or training sessions will benefit you and the person you are caring for.
4. Manage emotions – Recognise the reality of the situation and that sometimes it’s easier to let go and deal with the circumstances.
5. Take a break – Indulge in a power nap, reading a book or even a spa treatment.
