MEC of Sports and Culture ‘ready for Dundee July’

"All roads now lead to Dundee where horse-racing enthusiasts can look forward to yet another spectacular event..."

The 14th annual Dundee July promises to be even more prestigious than the previous 13 editions. This is the view of KwaZulu-Natal MEC of Sports and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela, speaking at today’s media launch at the Battlefields Country Lodge.

“I am ecstatic to be part of this year’s media launch of the Dundee July, which is set to take place on Saturday [July 20]. With the dust having just settled on the much famed Vodacom Durban July, held in Durban over the weekend, all roads now lead to Dundee, where horse-racing enthusiasts can look forward to yet another spectacular event, which is unique and community-based.”

In her address, the MEC promised tight security at the race course, especially when night fell and the after parties began. Previously, the event has been marred by disruptive behaviour, but the MEC is confident that with extra security, proceedings will run smoothly.

The Dundee July Experience Music Festival will have an entertainment area separate from the race stage. This year’s line-up includes artists such as Prince Kaybee, Cassper Nyovest, Sjava, Riky Rick, Kwesta and Babes Wodumo.
