Messages condemning women abuse and murders were conveyed

A small crowd gathered outside the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court this morning to protest against bail of an alleged murderer.

Joining hands, members of the Men’s Sector and Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality said that they were standing against women abuse and murder, referring to the case where Snegugu Innocentia Mswane was murdered in Wembezi at the end of June.

Men’s Sector Chairman Gcino Gwala who was outside court explained that the suspect allegedly after murdering the woman, tied her body with rope and kept it in a room for five days before discarding it in a river. This incident was reported on June 21.

Fanisiwe Ngubane, sister of murdered Snegugu Innocentia Mswane.

The deceased’s sister Fanisiwe Ngubane tearfully said: “We don’t want him to get bail. This is very painful for us.”
A limited number of people were allowed inside court where the man was granted bail but chose to waive it and remain in custody.

The matter was postponed to August 14.

“On behalf of the Men’s Sector, we are happy with the outcome of today’s case,” commented Mr Gwala.
