The suspects lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Ulundi Public Order Policing (POP) Unit members arrested a 17-year-old on July 17, in connection with a number of crimes.

A 9mm pistol and live ammunition were confiscated by police officials.

After the vehicle veered off the road near the Mbilane River bridge last Wednesday and crashed, police officials apprehended the teen for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and 12 rounds of live ammunition.

At the scene of the crash, SAPS arrested a teenage occupant.

R154 was also recovered from the crashed vehicle. It was later found the teen is wanted in connection with a murder in Orlando – where a taxi driver was shot and burned in his taxi – and with a case of armed robbery in Mahlabatini, during which cash and cellphones were stolen.

Two more occupants of the crashed vehicle managed to escape, and are wanted by SAPS.
