Celebrating Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s legacy

The Estcourt Sai Centre devotees held a special programme to celebrate the 94th advent of Sri Sathya Sai Baba

A devotional service to commemorate Sathya Sai Baba’s 94th birthday kicked off on Saturday afternoon.


Praise and celebratory bhajans reverberated through the Sai Mandir.

The shrine adorned with beautiful flowers.

In a joyous spirit, Estcourt Sai Centre devotees also watched a play by the Balvikas and listened to talks.

Founding member and elder of the Estcourt Sai Centre Mr Koomarasen Pillaye took to the pulpit sharing how he and the late Mrs Pillaye obtained statues for the centre in Estcourt 36-years ago.

Mr Pillaye delivered an interesting talk.

“Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray,” he said.

The Sai Organisation grew in leaps through feeding schemes, free medical clinics and schools.

The five values are being practised over the past 50 years in South Africa.

Desigan and Kiana Pillay spoke on the miraculous Sathya Sai Baba.

Father and daughter, Desigan and Kiana Pillay delivered a talk of pure love being observed. The duo touched on Sai Baba’s miracles, divinity and tremendous spiritual legacy.

Following a few announcements and a hearty vote of thanks, a tasty vegetarian supper and sweet treats were served.
