Taxi industry officials aim to bring Covid-19 to a halt

Officials from the taxi industry and campaign partners helped commuters understand the threat of the coronavirus and how to safeguard themselves, and provided hand sanitiser to them.

The taxi industry is driving efforts to educate commuters on Covid-19.
An education campaign was organised by the Zululand Taxi Association and the Zululand Region of the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) last Thursday, together with the Department of Health, Health Systems Trust, the Road Traffic Inspectorate, local municipal traffic officials and SAPS.
The campaign focused on drivers and passengers utilising the R33 and R34 routes.

Meanwhile, members of Provincial Parliament and local leaders also issued hand sanitisers and soap to bus and taxi commuters, at the Plaza Taxi Rank on Tuesday.
