Prestigious award for uThukela District Municipality

The municipality had the privilege of winning in the category of 'Best District in Implementing Infrastructure Projects'

Amid all the turmoil in our country and district relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, load-shedding and other service delivery issues, the uThukela District Council recently had something positive to cheer about.

This comes after General Manager: Water, Sanitation & Technical Services Neal Khuzwayo presented Mayor AS Mazibuko and Speaker PG Strydom with a certificate and a trophy during the council meeting.

The awards were presented to uThukela District Municipality at the EPWP Kamoso Awards which were held in Ballito, Durban, on March 10.

The municipality had the privilege of winning in the category of ‘Best District in Implementing Infrastructure Projects’. This was based on the ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ category that required no entry. All district municipalities were eligible for it. Formulas were applied using system reported data and uThukela District came out on top.

On behalf of the council and management, Mayor Mazibuko wishes to congratulate the Water, Sanitation & Technical Services Department for such a sterling job.
